Corpse Bride 20th Anniversary

Twenty years after its 2005 debut, Corpse Bride was celebrated as a landmark of modern stop-motion animation and one of Tim Burton’s most visually distinctive films.

The anniversary spotlighted the painstaking craftsmanship behind the production—featuring retrospectives on the film’s intricate puppets, elaborate miniature sets, and groundbreaking use of digital photography in stop-motion filmmaking.

In October 2025, special anniversary screenings and revival showings brought the film back to cinemas in a stunning 4k restoration.

Studios and animation communities also used the occasion to reflect on the movie’s lasting influence—revisiting behind-the-scenes footage, sharing interviews with cast and crew, and honoring the collaboration between Burton and co-director Mike Johnson.

Two decades on, the anniversary underscored Corpse Bride’s enduring cultural footprint—not just as a cult favorite, but as a benchmark for artistry in stop-motion cinema.
