BBC's 'The Supporting Act' 2017 Christmas Campaign

Commissioned by the BBC and directed by Elliot Dear through Blinkink, The Supporting Act tells the heart-warming story of a devoted father who quietly supports his daughter’s dream of performing in the school Christmas show. The film captivated audiences with its emotional storytelling and beautifully crafted stop-motion aesthetic.

Mackinnon & Saunders were responsible for the design and fabrication of the film’s intricate puppets. Working closely with director Elliot Dear and the Blinkink team, the studio combined traditional model-making techniques with cutting-edge digital facial animation processes, achieving remarkable nuance and expressiveness in the characters’ performances.
