Mackinnon & Saunders played an important creative role in Wednesday Season 2 by crafting a distinctive stop-motion animated sequence featured in the first episode of the new season. Director Tim Burton asked the studio to produce a roughly 90-second black-and-white flashback called “The Tale of the Skull Tree,”

Over several months, Our team built handcrafted puppets, intricate miniature sets and animated the sequence in our Manchester studios. Following Tim's direction and drawings the aim was to give it a deliberately tactile, old-school feel that reflected Burton's aesthetic.
