At the bottom of a garden, in two large flowerpots, live BILL and
BEN, who are lively, mischievous and playfully, good-natured
characters made from …. flowerpots!
Always together, they have fun, play tricks and create well-meaning
mayhem everywhere in the garden, helped and hindered by their many
friends, chief of which is their wise advisor, WEED, who has grown
between their flowerpot homes.
Bill and Ben’s other friends include the tetchy tortoise,
SLOWCOACH, and WHOOPS, the know-it-all worm, SCAMPER the squirrel,
PRY the magpie, WHIMSY spider and THISTLE a prickly plant with a
mischievous nature. Also there is BOO the hedgehog and a friendly
tomato called KETCHUP.
Over the fence, in the very well maintained next-door garden, lives
snooty ROSE, and her darling BUDS, together with TAD, the cheeky,
cheerful frog.
This mix of unique characters, led by Bill and Ben, the lively
flowerpot men, comes to life in 52 action–filled, funny,
garden-centred animated adventures.
52 x 10 minutes of stop frame puppet animation. The series
premiered in the UK on CBBC in February 2001 and was an immediate
success.
The series was nominated for a British Animation Award in the
category of Best Pre-school Series 2002.
